SUMMIT has purchased a track mounted geotechnical drilling platform, a CME (Central Mine Equipment) 55 HT (High Torque) machine mounted on a Hitachi 1500 Series rubber track crawler carrier.  This unit will greatly expand our in-house drilling capabilities to include angle drilling, rock coring and deep borings (50+ feet) and provide for greater off road capability.  This is our 2nd track mounted geotechnical platform and will work in conjunction with out SIMCO rig already in service.

The CME 55HT is a heavy-duty ATV machine with 10,000 ft-lbs of torque, heavy steel construction, 4 heavy duty winch systems and hydraulic leveling jacks.  The unit will extend subsurface borings to depths in excess of 150 feet and weighs over 6 tons fully equipped.
